Solar troubleshooting

Solar panels not working? Let's find out why.

Most dead or weak systems come down to a handful of fixable problems.

  • Inverter failures (the most common, often 10 to 15 years in)
  • Tripped breakers, loose connections, failed optimizers
  • Monitoring that dropped offline
  • Shading, damage or dirty panels

Common problems we see

Inverter error or no lights

The inverter turns sunlight into usable power. When it fails, the whole system stops.

App says offline

Sometimes it's only the Wi-Fi or monitoring. Sometimes it's hiding a real failure.

Bill went back up

A slow drop in production often means a failed optimizer or a string that's down.

How it works

  1. Tell us what's wrong. Two minutes on the form above.
  2. We call you. We'll ask about your system and set up a visit.
  3. We find the problem and quote the fix before any work starts.
  4. Your panels make power again. No more paying for a system that sits there.

We work on systems other companies abandoned

When an installer goes out of business, the homeowner is often left with no one to call: no monitoring, no workmanship warranty, sometimes a permit that never got its final inspection. The panels and inverters themselves usually still carry the manufacturer's warranty, and we can help you use it.

Common questions

Why did my solar panels stop working?

The most common cause is a failed inverter. Others are a tripped breaker or disconnect, a failed microinverter or optimizer, damaged wiring, or monitoring that went offline and hid a real problem.

How long do solar inverters last?

String inverters often last 10 to 15 years. Microinverters usually last longer and carry longer warranties. Many systems installed around 2014 to 2018 are reaching that age now.

My app says offline. Is my system broken?

Not always. Sometimes only the Wi-Fi or monitoring dropped. But if your electric bill went up, the system itself may be down. We can check both.
